Technical Division

This Division has the following tasks.

  • It monitors all technical training providers for quality assurance.
  • It provides input regarding technical matters and also assists in conducting examinations and evaluations of training programs.
  • It coordinates with national and international TEVT programs for quality education and training.
  • It ensures the quality of the TEVT graduates.

 

  • NEWS

     

    1. The In-Country Program on “Performance Appraisal for TVET Institutions” jointly organized by CPSC in collaboration with the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT), Nepal from March 10 to 14, 2008, provided inputs on concepts and tools in developing performance appraisal systems for TVET institutions and organizations.

     

     

    The Chief Guest, Prof. Maheswor Man Shrestha, Member of the National Planning Commission, Nepal , inaugurated the program with words of encouragement for the organizers and the participants.  He also stressed the need for quality improvement in education as well as technical and TVET sector.  He emphasized that as education and training given higher importance in the development of the country, quality improvement through performance appraisal is needed.  Special Guest of the program was the Vice Chairperson of Higher Education Secondary Board Dr. Upendra Koirala. The Vice Chairperson of CTEVT, Dr. Devi Prasad Ghimire, chaired the inaugural session

    A total of 23 participants, mostly, principals, vice principals and department heads from Technical Schools and Training Centers of CTEVT and other TVET institutions attended the program.

    Prof. Majumdar, with his team of international faculty, composed of Dr. Arachi R. Ariyaratne, who acted as Course Coordinator; Dr. Suresh K. Dhameja, and Prof. TJ Gayondato as Resource Persons, facilitated the conduct of the program. Mr. Diwat Kumar Shrestha, Director, Technical Division, CTEVT locally coordinated the program.

    At the end of the program the participants came up with certain performance criteria for appraisal of TVET Institutes along with sample proposal for implementation of performance appraisal system that have been developed.

    •  11 Self Employment Oriented Skilled Training has been conducted in different Technical and Annex Schools around the country. The Ministry of Education and Sports, Youth and Sports Development Program sponsored those trainings.

    •  3 Skilled Training for the disables has been conducted in different Technical Schools of western region, mid western region and far western region of the country. The Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare, sponsored those trainings.

    •  Waiter Waitresses and Housekeeping Training for Disable in Chitwan, There are 16 participants and the training is running with the collaboration of Hotel Association Nepal, Chitwan, Nepal Disabled Association, Chitwan and CTEVT.

    •  30 I. Sc. Agriculture Students are moving to Iserial for On-The-Job Training; In collaboration with AICAT, Iserial, 30 students from different CTEVT Technical Schools are on the process to go Iserial for On-The-Job Training

    •  25 th Management Conference and Annex Conference

    CTEVT, 25 th Management Conference held on Asar 2,3 and 4, 2065 in TITI. All the Technical Schools ' Principal and Vice Principals were participated in the conference. The Vice Chairman of CTEVT Dr. Devi Prasad Ghimire inaugurated the conference. The principals of all the CTEVT technical schools presented their annual progress report and Divisional progress reports were also presented from CTEVT side accordingly.

    Different issues were raised during the conference. The 6 major issues were discussed in different groups and the possible solutions were recommended with responsible persons and indicators. At the end of the conference The Vice Chairman Dr. Devi Prasad Ghimire and Member Secretary Mr. Nir Bahadur Jirel addressed the conference. They had assured to fulfill the commitments during the conference making monitoring task force.

    The Management Conference of CTEVT Annex schools will be held in near future. All the Principals and Coordinators of Annex School will participate in the Conference.

    •  Monitoring and Supervision of Technical Schools all over the country

    The Monitoring and Supervision of the Technical Schools all over the country has been completed. The report will be submitted within the first week of Asar 2065. The subject covered were Dental, Lab, CMA, ANM, AAHW, Civil, Electrical, Agriculture, Electronic, Survey and Social Mobilizations. Total numbers were 201 (TSLC: 131 and Diploma: 70).

    •  On-The-Job Training Evaluation of TSLC Students.

    50% evaluation of OJT for TSLC student has been completed and Schools conducting ANM program are continued according to plan.

    •  Memorable Events for coming year

    •  CPSC Regional Program is going to be held in Nepal

    The proposal to conduct CPSC Regional program in Nepal is submitted in CPSC headquarters in Manila . The program will be held in coming fiscal year 065/66. 3 different subjects have been proposed for the program.

    •  The process will be started to establish 15 more Annex School .

    The process to establish 15 new annex school will be started in the coming fiscal year 065/66. The schools will be selected in those districts where there is no Annex school and CTEVT schools.
